Every year, the Turquoise Harmony Institute hosts its prestigious “Annual Peace and Dialogue Awards” ceremony, which awards and recognizes individuals and organizations who have greatly contributed time, effort, energy, leadership and dedication to cause of dialogue, peace and community service. The award recipients are identified through a consultation process. These awards are given in various categories such as Interfaith, Art, Media, Academia, Sports, Community Service, Human Rights and the prestigious Gülen Peace Award. Gülen Peace Award is named after the Turkish Scholar Fethullah Gülen whose speeches and writings provided inspiration to millions to engage in such education and dialogue projects. Schools and inter cultural dialogue organizations have been established in Turkey and then expanded to many parts of the world. Our organization also gets its inspirations mainly from his teachings.

The awards are presented during an official dinner program which commences with the Ubuntu Lecture. The Ubuntu Lectures so far have been presented by Ms Jane Ngobese, Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, Minister Naledi Pandor, Ms. Ela Gandhi, Deputy Minister Hlengiwe Buhle Mkhize, and Prof. Adam Habib.
