Turquoise Women Platform hosted a panel discussion, “The Role of Interfaith on Women Empowerment”, on 25 May 2016 where we aim to focus on the 5th Sustainable Development Goal set out by the United Nations titled “Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering all Women and Girls”.
It was a successful discussion that speakers, as well as the audience, deliberated how we, as the women of different backgrounds, can work hand in hand to achieve this goal in South Africa, a naturally diverse country. It was an important contribution of Turquoise Women to women empowerment by taking that opportunity of religious diversity of South Africa, and take peaceful interfaith dialogue as a step to move forward to the empowerment of women and girls.
