60 years ago South Africa shed innocent blood in its fight for equality.
On 21 March 1960 the Sharpeville Massacre exposed the apartheid government’s deliberate violation of human rights to the world.
The day was later declared Human Rights Day lest we forget the sacrifices that were made so that we may enjoy equality, human dignity, freedom of movement and residence, language and culture, and the right to life.
