Following the Iftar Dinner programs we held, we have received many emails from the participants with words of encouragement and support.Since it would be difficult to reply to each one separately we thought it would be appropriate to send out a general response and a short report on the Iftar.

As it was indicated, we held these dinners in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Durban and Cape Town with a total participation os approximately 600 distinguished people. Some of the highlights of the program were the speech by Prof Yilmaz on Gulen Movement as an example of civil society initiative in building social cohesion and reconciliation. His speech placed the work of the Movement in a theoretical framework and then touched on some of the practical examples where it made significant contributions.

Comments by the participants were also much appreciated and we would like to mentioned them here and thank them for making the evening more meaningful and adding value:

More dignitaries were due to attend the events, however due to the public sector strike corresponding to these dates they could not make it to the program. We wish to thank them too for accepting the invitation originally although they could not make it.

Each speaker shared their views on the value of dialogue and how it has the potential to contribute to building a happier tomorrow.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who made contribution to the success of the evening and participated the event.
